    The presiding judge of the juvenile court in the superior court in Maricopa County and the Clerk of the Superior Court in Maricopa County request amendments related to accessing juvenile court records.

    Would provide guidance to the custodian of records on appropriate access to juvenile case records based on the role of the requester as to the child(ren).

    FILED: January 9, 2018.

    EXTENDED COMMENT PERIOD: Comments must be submitted on or before September 28, 2018.

    Petitioner's reply due October 19, 2018.

    ORDERED: Petition to Amend Rule 123, Rules of the Supreme Court of Arizona; Rules 19, 47, 75 & 86, Rules of Procedure for the Juvenile Court = ADOPTED AS MODIFIED, effective January 1, 2019.

    The petitioners of R-18-0005 file this comment supporting the consensus version of the rules submitted by David Byers on September 27, 2018. The AOC’s Juvenile Records Access Workgroup met twice to discuss and define appropriate levels of access to meet the needs of parties, the public, the legal community, agencies, the courts, and the clerks. We believe the workgroup achieved its goals with the consensus version that was presented.
