    Petition to Amend Rule 1.8, Maricopa County Superior Court Local Rules

    Would change the word "mail" to "distribute" to allow electronic distribution of notices that exhibits are due for disposal

    Michael Jeanes, Clerk of the Superior Court in and for Maricopa County, submits the following comment to Presiding Judge Janet Barton’s request to amend Rule 2.8 of the Superior Court Local Rules for Maricopa County.

    For the reasons stated in the request, this office recommends the Court’s adoption of the amendment. Allowing the Clerk to distribute notice to parties who have authorized electronic communications will improve the speed and reliability of reaching the court’s customers while reducing costs. The Clerk’s Office will continue sending paper to parties who have not consented to receive electronic notices.
