A graduate of the University of Arizona, in the studies of Public Administration, Karen has worked in the Arizona court system for 26 years. She began her career working as in Intake Unit Supervisor in the Pretrial Services Division of the Superior Court in Pima County and later moved into court administration and was charged with designing and developing that court’s training and education department. During the years she served at the Superior Court in Pima County, she gained certifications as a community mediator, in training design and development from the National Academy of Corrections of the National Institute of Justice and also completed the Faculty Skills Development program of the Arizona Supreme Court.
Karen relocated to Cochise County in 1991, when she was appointed as the Administrator of the Superior Court in Cochise County. She has served on many local and statewide committees over the years, including the COJET Committee, the Committee on Keeping the Record and the Committee on Superior Courts. Currently she sits on the steering committee overseeing the new general jurisdiction case management system and serves on the Arizona Judicial Council, as the designated court administrator representative. She became certified as a member of ICM’s CMP Consortium States faculty in January of 2010.
