Kent Batty

KENT BATTY is the administrator for the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County. Previously, Mr. Batty served as the administrator for the Washtenaw County (Michigan) Trial Court and the Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan (Wayne County), having begun his court administration career with the Kansas Supreme Court’s administrative office.

Mr. Batty is a former president of the National Association for Court Management, former president of both the Arizona Association of Superior Court Administrators and the Michigan Association of Circuit Court Administrators, and was a member of the board of directors of the National Center for State Courts. In 1993, Mr. Batty joined the faculty of the National Judicial College, where he teaches on court management, and has served as an advisor in structuring the College’s course on middle management team-building. Additionally, Mr. Batty has taught courses on court administration, caseflow management and other topics, and he has provided court management consulting to courts and other justice-related organizations nationally and internationally. He also serves as vice-chair of the committee which provides guidance to the Court Leadership Institute of Arizona. Mr. Batty earned his B.A. in Management from Duke University and his M.S. in Judicial Administration from the University of Denver, College of Law.
