Child Support Committee

* Effective July 24, 2014, the statutory authorities enabling this legislative committee has been repealed pursuant to HB2437, signed by the Governor on April 24, 2014. Although these committees are no longer scheduled to meet, prior agendas and meeting materials may still be accessed.

Legislation passed in 2002, A.R.S.§ 25-323.01, created the Child Support Committee (“Committee”) of the Arizona State Legislature.  The Committee was comprised of 21 members representing the legislature, legal community, parents, judiciary and state child support agency.  A member of the state Senate and a member of the House of Representatives shared chairmanship of the Committee and staff support was provided by the Administrative Office of the Courts.

The Committee was a forum for all system stakeholders to develop and coordinate policies and strategies to improve the child support system. To that end, the Committee actively explored new concepts for improving the system, with Committee deliberations resulting in recommended legislative and/or administrative changes regarding child support guidelines, enforcement and related issues.
