The Commission recognizes that each minority bar association has neither unlimited time nor resources. This Arizona Bar Associations Assistance project was designed to assist them in promoting judicial diversity as efficiently as possible. The Diversity Workgroup interviewed the sister associations about their various judicial diversity activities and have organized that collective wisdom.

• The Judicial Nominating Commission interviews candidates for judicial openings and submits a list of candidates to the Governor for selection under Arizona’s merit selection system. Membership includes the Chief Justice, attorneys and public members who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Arizona Senate.
