Juvenile Drug Court Fund
Juvenile drug courts are funded primarily through legislative appropriation as established by the Arizona legislature in 2005 under HB 2610. JJSD also makes use of JCRF funds to extend juvenile drug courts where no other funds exist. Any appropriated juvenile drug court funds not used by the juvenile probation departments at the end of a fiscal year are “reverted” or sent back to the State’s General Fund.
JJSD supplements the legislative appropriation with JPSF treatment funds.
Each drug court includes a Drug Court team that includes judicial, legal, probation and treatment provider representation. Juvenile drug courts are currently operational in 18 cities/municipalities in the following 10 counties.
Apache
Cochise
Gila
Graham
Maricopa
Mohave
Pima
Pinal
Yavapai
Yuma
The AOC and the County Probation Departments manage this fund on a monthly basis through utilization and financial management processes.
