JUDICIAL LAW CLERK APPLICATIONS


EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Arizona Supreme Court clerkship applications and materials are being accepted from law students who expect to graduate in 2020 and wish to apply for the 2020-2021 year.  Students should submit their applications by June 15, 2019, as the Justices will begin reviewing applications on June 17, 2019.

The following Justices will be accepting applications:

Vice Chief Justice Brutinel
Justice Ann A. Scott Timmer
Justice Clint Bolick
Justice John Lopez IV

There is currently 1 vacancy on the Arizona Supreme Court due to the retirement of Justice John Pelander, and there will be a 2nd vacancy in July 2019, when Chief Justice Scott Bales retires.  All applications will be provided to any newly appointed Justice.

IMPORTANT DATES 

June 17, 2019 Justices begin reviewing applications and scheduling Law Clerk interviews

June 24, 2019 Justices begin conducting interviews and making clerkship offers   

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:  2020-2021 TERM

The application materials must include:

  • Cover Letter
  • Resume
  • Law School Transcript
  • Undergraduate Transcript
  • Writing Sample
  • Two or Three Letters of Recommendation

    Submit your application and materials to LCapps@courts.az.gov and identify in your message the Justice(s) to whom you wish to apply.

    Note:  The server will reject email attachments that exceed 15MB.
