Petition Open for Comments

A rule change petition has been filed based on committee reccomendations. Comments will be collected from the public. The petition, along with the comments, will then be provided to the Arizona Supreme Court for consideration.

COMMENT DUE DATES:
September 22, 2011: Initial comments to the petition due.
September 30, 2011: Petitioners may file an amended petition, as necessary.
November 1, 2011: Comments to any amended petition due.

COMMITTEE ISSUES FINAL REPORT

The Final Report of the Committee will be considered by the Arizona Judicial Council on Monday, June 20, 2011.  This meeting is open to the public.  The Final Report and meeting details, including the location, time and agenda can be viewed by Clicking Here
                                                                                                         

The Arizona Supreme Court’s Committee on Improving Probate Court Matters is currently soliciting comments from the public regarding suggested improvements to Arizona’s method of establishing and overseeing guardianships and conservatorships for vulnerable and incapacitated persons. 

Specifically, the committee wishes to receive input regarding problems encountered or observed in guardianship or conservatorship cases and any suggested solutions. 

The committee is not investigating the probate court or any particular case, however, and asks that people refrain from making comments that identify particular case names, numbers, or persons involved in those cases.  Persons wishing to comment can do so below, via email or the public comment form (an automatically generated email not condusive to public computers.) Comments may also be mailed to: Arizona State Court Building c/o Committee on Improving Probate Matters - 1501 W. Washington, Suite104, Phoenix, AZ 85007.

DEADLINE DATES FOR SUBMISSION OF MATERIALS FOR COMMITTEE  MEETINGS
As stated during the full Committee meeting on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, in order to ensure timely and efficient preparation for future meetings, Committee members and others must submit proposed agenda items and related materials by six business days before the meeting.  Any items for discussion at the meeting can then be timely posted for consideration, and all interested parties will have a weekend for review.
