    If approved, this amendment would conform Rules 34(c) and 76(b) of the Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedure (ARFLP) with the consultation exception for self-represented litigants in Rule 9(c) and 17, ARFLP.

    Would amend Rules 34(b) and 76(b) of the Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedure to modify the current rules’ provisions governing the parties’ obligation to consult with one another in connection with certain pretrial proceedings

    Comments must be submitted on or before Monday, May 2, 2022.
    Any reply by a petitioner must be submitted on or before Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

    Comments must be submitted on or before July 18, 2022.
    Any reply by a petitioner must be submitted on or before July 25, 2022.

    This is a supplemental filing in response to further discussion regarding the goals for this rule change. The focus is on maximizing consultation before certain submissions to the court are made without compromising the protection of those who allege to have been victimized by domestic violence.

    On July 16, 2022, the FCIC held a meeting for the sole purpose of discussing this Amended Petition. With a quorum present, the FCIC unanimously approved the following motion.

    Motion: to support the amended petition and its protections for self-represented alleged victims of domestic violence including the additional amendment to Rule 9(c)(2).
