    Filed: January 9, 2023

    Would amend ER 1.4, Rule 42 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Arizona, to require an attorney to tell a client if he or she does not carry professional liability insurance.

    Comments must be submitted no later than Monday, May 1, 2023.
    Any reply by a petitioner must be submitted no later than Thursday, June 1, 2023.

    The Pima County Bar Association joins in full the thoughtful and well-reasoned Petition filed by the State Bar. While it would be preferable to require all private attorneys to carry malpractice insurance, this is nonetheless a meaningful step toward protecting the public.
