The Committee on Alternative Business Structures will be established by the Arizona Code of Judicial Administration, section 7-209 and Arizona Supreme Court Rule 33.1 effective January 1, 2021. The Committee will receive applications and make recommendations for licensing entities to be called ABS’s, that share ownership between lawyers and nonlawyers. The Committee will make recommendations to the supreme court or the Arizona Judicial Council regarding rules, policies, and procedures for regulating alternative business structures and may interview applicants regarding initial licensure and renewals.
