The Coconino County Commission on Trial Court Appointments will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2023 to screen the applications of the following persons for a vacancy on the Superior Court in Coconino County created by the retirement of the Honorable Dan Slayton:

 

• Brent D. Harris

• James M. Mapp

• Joshua C. Steinlage

• Adam K. Zickerman

 

The meeting is open to the public. Citizens may address the Commission about any of the applicants at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2023. The meeting will be held in Flagstaff, in the Jury Assembly Room of the Flagstaff Municipal Court, 101 West Cherry, Flagstaff, AZ 86001 Citizens who wish to submit written comments are highly encouraged to submit them via email to [email protected] or via mail to 1501 W. Washington, Suite 221, Phoenix, AZ 85007. Written Comments must arrive by Nov. 3, 2023 to be considered. Anonymous comments cannot be considered. The agenda may be obtained from the Human Resources Department, Administrative Office of the Courts, 1501 West Washington St. Suite 221, Phoenix, Arizona, 85007, by calling (602) 452-3311, or at the Commission’s website at azcourts.gov/jnc/ At the Nov. 7 meeting, the Commission will conduct a public vote on the applicants to be interviewed. The selected applicants will be interviewed on Dec. 13, 2023. After the interviews, the commission will recommend at least three nominees to Governor Katie Hobbs, who will appoint the new judge.
