Family Counseling Fund

The Family Counseling Fund is mandated by the ARS §8-261. The Family Counseling Fund is a reverting fund and is provided to the AOC through Legislative appropriation. Any funds not used by the juvenile probation departments at the end of a fiscal year are “reverted” or sent back to the State’s General Fund.

JJSD requests a plan for the spending of Family Counseling funds from each County Probation Department, and also requires the County Board of Supervisors to agree to provide a 25% matching amount per statute. The scope and breadth of the Family Counseling Fund is described in the AOC Administrative Code 6:310.

The AOC and the County Probation Departments manage this fund on a monthly basis through utilization and financial management processes.
