DEPUTY CLERK II

Or directly related experience which may substitute for degree requirement.

Hiring Salary: $36,662

                                                                                                                                           


The Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One is accepting applications for a Deputy Clerk position; a non-exempt hourly position.  Deputy Clerks are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Court.  Under the direction of the Clerk of the Court, deputy clerks’ process appeals arising from trial courts, boards and commissions

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Analyze information contained in court documents to create accurate court dockets

·         Engage in professional level discussions with all levels of court staff, the legal community and the general public

·          Knowledge of general office procedures: Communication and Interpersonal skills, both written and spoken

·         Develop proficiency in using the court’s case management system and e-filing systems

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

·         Maintain confidentiality in regards to pending court cases and business processes

·         Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously

·         Ability  and willingness to adapt to changes in responsibilities, duties and procedures

·         Ability to show initiative and sound judgment in decision-making,  pay close attention to detail, and work well in a busy professional

 environment

·         Advanced word processing skills.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat X Pro.

·         Ability to work in a computer-based data-entry environment

·         Problem  analysis and problem solving

·         Attention to detail and accuracy

 

·         REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·         College Degree or equivalent combination of education and Court Clerk experience.

 

·         PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: 

·         Familiarity with legal documents 

·         Law-related professional or educational experience

·         Ability to use Windows 8.1 and Office 365

·         Ability to speak, read and write Spanish a plus, but not required

·         Ability and willingness to assist in the training of court personnel regarding daily tasks, as well as upgraded or new technologies and case
        document applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS:

·         Ability to sit, or stand, for a major portion of the work day, depending on specific job assignment

·         Ability to retrieve boxes and files from low and high storage areas

·         Ability to lift 30 pounds
