D. Steven Williams


Judge D. Steven Williams was appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One by Governor Douglas Ducey in 2019.

Judge Williams graduated cum laude from Arizona State University, where he was a Maroon & Gold Scholar Athlete and a member of the men’s wrestling team. In 2004 he received his Juris Doctorate from the Arizona State University College of Law.

Immediately prior to his appointment to the Court of Appeals, Judge Williams was serving as a Judge Pro Tempore in the Apache County Superior Court, as well as on the Navajo County Board of Supervisors. He has served as the presiding judge of the Eagar Municipal Court and as a member of the governing board of the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission. Judge Williams began his legal career with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office before spending a decade in private practice. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Naval Reserves after serving active duty.
