Arizona Court of Appeals Summer Judicial Externship Program

Arizona Court of Appeals Summer Judicial Externship Program

Co-Sponsored by the Arizona Supreme Court Commission on Diversity, Equality, and Justice in the Judiciary

The Summer Judicial Externship Program provides diverse college-level students with a unique opportunity to build a substantial working knowledge of the role and functions of the Arizona Appellate Courts. The program offers a compelling study experience and valuable exposure to working in a professional environment in the State Courts Building located in downtown Phoenix. Special enrichment opportunities include attending court sessions, seminars organized by the Appellate Courts, as well as working on a current case. Diverse students are those who are historically underrepresented in the legal profession (generally based on race, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, socio-economic status, and national origin).

The Summer Judicial Externship Program is unpaid. Externs are encouraged to pursue academic credit through their institutions of study and in consultation with the Summer Judicial Externship Program. Externs will also be required to provide their own laptops.
