Attorney Regulation Advisory Committee
The Attorney Regulation Advisory Committee (ARC) was created in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2011-44, to assist the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice on issues relating to attorney regulation. ARC monitors the discipline process, periodically reviews the entire attorney admission and discipline system, and makes recommendations for any needed changes.
ARC is chaired by Vice Chief Justice John R Lopez IV. Membership consists of representatives of the Committees on Character and Fitness, Examinations, and Attorney Discipline Probable Cause; the Lawyer Regulation Office of the State Bar of Arizona; the State Bar Board of Governors; the Commission on Judicial Conduct; and members of the public. There are currently nineteen members, serving staggered three-year terms. The Chief Justice may appoint additional members as necessary.
