Inmate Release Court (IRC) Program

The Inmate Release Court (IRC) Program is a collaborative partnership between the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) and the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry’s (ADCRR) Second Chance Program (a pro-social program designed to prepare inmates for release). The IRC program was established to resolve outstanding cases in limited jurisdiction courts for inmates participating in ADCRR’s Second Chance Program.

FOR INQUIRIES ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Project Focus and Goals   Access to Justice   Fair Justice for All
The primary focus of the program is to enable inmates to reenter society without the financial burden of outstanding monetary obligations or additional sanctions, such as driver’s license suspensions or active warrants, that could hinder their successful reintegration.   The IRC Program allows inmates the ability to take care of outstanding cases while serving out the remainder of their sentence.   This program promotes compliance with court orders and aligns with the Arizona judiciary’s mission of providing fair justice for all, especially for those who lack the financial means to pay off court-ordered fines.
