Code Standards

Accurate court case data is essential to achieving timely case resolution, efficient and effective allocation of judicial resources, and supporting policy decisions.  Further, court digital data is now exchanged with a myriad of other government agencies impacting driving, criminal, and voting records, and can impact the issuance and quashing of warrants, credit reporting, prison terms length, gun ownership, employment, officer safety, military service, and other significant activities.

Administrative Order 2024-123 orders all general and limited jurisdiction courts tosubmit data to the Administrative Office of the Court’s (AOC) Central Case Repository (CCR) as specified in the CCR Integration Design Specification documentation. Administrative Directive 2024-10 lists
the deadlines by which all courts must submit case-related data to the CCR. The directive also contains a Request for Extension of Time form for courts requesting an extension of the directive’s deadlines.

The Data Standardization Advisory Committee reviews and approves standardized codes in order to ensure the most accurate court case data.  Courts must transmit the approved statewide codes listed below in the Statewide Code Standards (Approved since July 2021) section to the Administrative Office of the Court and our justice partners.  The codes are used in a range of automation projects including statistical reporting, case management reporting, public access and reporting to other government agencies.

A court may submit a new code request by selecting the Code Request icon below and completing the online form. Data Standards staff will contact you with any questions and inform you of the progress of the request. If you need any additional assistance you can email us at [email protected].
