State Bar Ethics Hotline 602-340-7284
The Ethics Hotline advises attorneys on their own prospective conduct. This is a free confidential service of the SBA. Calls are not recorded, but notes are kept of the advice given. A requesting attorney may seek his or her records, which may be mitigating in attorney discipline matters.  Calls range the span of the ethical rules including questions like: do I have a conflict, how can I ethically terminate a representation, is this an appropriate limited scope representation and what are the ethical considerations of paying a referral fee?

Ethics Best Practices
Please see the Ethics Advisory Group’s Best Practices on specific ethical rules. The EAG deliberately provided Best Practices in the form of common questions and answers as a free resource to help attorneys in their daily practice. The purpose is to provide attorneys practical help without requiring them to purchase an additional publication.

Please see the Practice 2.0 resources for questions related to running a legal business. All calls are confidential and also may be mitigating in discipline.
