Family Treatment Court
What is a family treatment court (FTC)?
A FTC is defined as a juvenile or family court docket for cases of child abuse or neglect in which parental substance use and often co-occurring mental health disorders are contributing factors. Judges, court personnel, attorneys, child protective services, treatment professionals, and other community partners collaborate on and coordinate services with the goal of ensuring that children have safe, nurturing, and permanent homes; family members receive the needed supports and services; and parents achieve stable recovery within mandatory time frames.
