    Would amend Appendix A of the Rules of Procedure for Eviction Actions to substantially rewrite the Residential Eviction Information Sheet so it is easier to read and understand.

    Comments must be submitted by no later than Wednesday, May 1, 2024, and any reply by a petitioner must be submitted no later than Monday, June 3, 2024.

    In its current form the REIS lists only Community Legal Services ("CLS") as a contact for legal assistance, leaving tenants in the other 14 counties without guidance. Also, in its current form, the REIS is unclear and potentially confusing to defendants. The revisions make the process and the tenants' rights much easier to understand. This will cut down on confusion and frustration on the part of tenants, cut down on time spent by the JPs and employees of the court in answering questions, improve efficiency, ensure that all tenants have the information they are entitled to, and better serve the original intent and purpose of the REIS.
