| Committee on Character and Fitness |
The Committee on Character and Fitness is responsible for investigating and making recommendations regarding applicants seeking admission to the practice of law in Arizona. The Committee reviews approximately 500 applications annually. Committee members commit an average of 25 hours per month to reviewing files and participating in inquiries and hearings. Membership includes public members and active members of the State Bar who are in good standing. Members are appointed for an initial four-year term, with the possibility of reappointment.

Committee on Examinations
The Committee on Examinations is responsible for overseeing the administration and grading fo the bar exam in Arizona. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising all components of the bar exam.
- Reviewing and making decisions on testing accommodation requests.
- Proctoring the February and July bar exams.
- Ensuring the performance and reliability of essay graders (two graders, approximately 500 essay responses per exam).
- Upholding the grading standards established by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE).
Members must be active members in good standing with the State Bar of ARizona. They are appointed for an initial four-year term, with the possibility of reappointment.
