SKILL-BUILDING WORKSHOP
for the Oral Court Interpreter Exam
ACICP is offering interpreters an opportunity to build their
CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETATION SKILLS
in preparation for the Oral Court Interpreter Exam.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR: This seminar is taught by Agustin Servin de la Mora, a federally certified interpreter who has 28 years of experience in the interpreting profession. During this full-day, IN-PERSON seminar, participants will:
- Review tips and tricks for effective notetaking for consecutive interpreting
- Examine guidelines for the proper consecutive method
- Perform hands-on consecutive interpreting exercises
- Learn self-evaluation techniques and how to identify patterns in performance
The seminar includes an optional mock oral exam to support interpreters through the final part of the credentialing process. All interpreters are welcome, including those of languages other than Spanish.
OPTIONAL MOCK EXAM: This optional mock exam is included with the seminar. The mock exam provides participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the testing process, as well as, provides an additional tool to practice before the real exam. Seminar attendees are encouraged to participate. The mock exam is ADMINISTERED REMOTELY and is scheduled during normal business hours a few days before the seminar.

REQUIREMENTS: ACICP is committed to providing a quality training experience to all participants of the seminar. This live seminar will not be recorded. Interpreters should register at their earliest opportunity as space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You must possess an ACICP Tier 1 or Tier 2 credential to register.
- You must bring a device to record yourself performing in-class exercises. (cell phone, handheld digital recorder, etc.)
- You must bring corded, 3.5mm (standard) headphones or earbuds.
- Note that newer i-Phone corded earbuds require an adapter that ACICP cannot provide.
- Note that the interpreter equipment used in seminar does not have Bluetooth capabilities.
- You must bring note-taking materials with you. (pen/pencil and notepad)
