Change of Venue

Because of historical delays, a simple process has been developed to improve the transfer of juvenile cases between Arizona counties. Traditionally, the sending county would close the case and forward the case file to the receiving county who would then open the case in their system, assign a Judge, and notify the parties, by mail, regarding the date and time of the first hearing. Utilizing the Change of Venue Worksheet below, the sending county is now able to provide to the parties, at their last hearing, the name of the Judge and the date and time of the first hearing in the receiving county. This should accelerate the date of the first hearing in the receiving county and should also increase the likelihood that the parents will be present for that hearing.
